The reviews for Cars & Trains The Roots, The Leaves keep coming in this New Years Eve day and the latest is from Portland’s local newspaper The Oregonian!

They give it an A-!!!

Tom Filepp’s subtle bleeps and blips amongst the swells of strings and guitar must have hit the right note with the reviewer because he says cars & trains compositions “…feel(s) fuller and surprisingly warmer…” to other experimental pop artists.

Although Cars & Trains Fake Four debut The Roots, The Leaves is still a few weeks from being released, reviewers have already got their hands on it and are saying pretty good things. This week Qro Magazine gave The Roots, The Leaves a 7/10, describing the album as containing “Beautiful lyrics combined with smart assemblages of live and electronic samples, molded into brief pop epiphanies.”
